Police Search For Two Men Who Robbed a Woman, Fired a Gunshot Into the Floor of Their Getaway Vehicle

Police are searching two suspects who robbed a woman at gunpoint.

Fairfield Police Department si searching for two men who allegedly robbed a woman at gunpoint. 

On Friday at 1:30 p.m., a 45-year-old woman was walking on Second Street near West Texas Street when a car pulled up alongside her and then onto the curb in front of her.

Two men, described as black male adults, were in the vehicle, according to police. One of the men, the passenger who wore a black sweatshirt and a bandanna concealing his face, pointed a gun at the woman and demanded money.

During the robbery, the driver of the vehicle fired a shot into the floor of the vehicle, police said. The woman told police that the shot was perhaps fired inadvertently.

The men took the woman's cell phone and cash. The duo was last seen fleeing west on West Texas Street. The vehicle they were driving is described as a black Honda or something similar.

The woman ran to a nearby business, where she alerted police. Fairfield officers conducted an area search for the suspects but were unable to located them. The woman was traumatized by the event, but was not physically injured police said.
