Fairfield police have identified three men suspected of killing two men in the Parkway Garden neighborhood on Wednesday.

The suspects are Blake Johnson, 21, of Vallejo; Darren Trahan, 21, of East Palo Alto; and 18-year-old Marcel Rutherford-Chew of Redwood City, Officer Cleo Mayoral said.

Vedell Jamar-Chew, 24, of Fairfield and Bernard Francis Knight, 18, of East Palo Alto were fatally shot on El Toro Court around 4:45 p.m. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The three suspects and two victims were acquaintances who were involved in criminal activity regarding drugs and weapons, Mayoral said. At least two of the suspects were armed, Mayoral said.

"There was a dispute or conflict before the shooting," Mayoral said.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene in the street and many bullet casings were recovered by crime scene investigators, Mayoral said.

Johnson is a black male, 6 feet 2 inches, 220 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and long dreadlocks in his hair. He is associated with a black Mercedes Benz S500 sedan that was seen at the scene.

Trahan is a black male, 5 feet 1 inch, 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Rutherford-Chew is believed to be related to the victim, Vedell Jamar-Chew but police have not confirmed the exact relationship, Mayoral said.

The suspects should be considered armed and dangerous and are being sought by police throughout the Bay Area, Mayoral said.

"These men are a threat to public safety and every effort is being made to locate and arrest them," Mayoral said.

Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call police at (707) 428-7600.

Mayoral said the homicides were not random and there have been other violent incidents in the Parkway Gardens neighborhood, but there are still many hard-working people in that community.
