Resident Catches Woman Burglarizing Fairfield Home

The suspect, identified as Shazzreea James, 43, of Vallejo, was arrested for burglary and possession of burglary tools.

A Vallejo woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon after she allegedly was caught burglarizing a residence on Fieldcrest Avenue in Fairfield, a police lieutenant said.

A male resident of the home ignored his ringing doorbell around 1:30 p.m. but heard a noise downstairs a few minutes later, Lt. Greg Hurlbut said.

He armed himself with a handgun, went downstairs and saw a woman standing in the living room area, Hurlbut said.

The resident held her at gunpoint and called 911 but the woman ran out the front door without any property, Hurlbut said.

The resident chased the intruder but police arrested her a short distance away, Hurlbut said.
