Police say Elizabeth Clapp, 70, went missing from the care home she lives at, located on Princeton Way in Fairfield.

"Staff members at the home noticed her absence yesterday morning and reported Elizabeth missing to police at 7:30 p.m.," according to a Fairfield Police Department release. "Police Officers and volunteers have been actively searching for Elizabeth since her reported disappearance."

According to police, Clapp does not suffer from any known illnesses or a mental condition, but is considered at risk because of her age. She was last seen wearing only a pair of sweat pants and a T-shirt.

Her purse and cell phone were still located in her bedroom at the home and her possible destination is unknown, police said.

Telephone contact was made with the immediate neighborhood this morning at approximately 4:30 a.m., asking residents to call the police with any information or possible sightings of Elizabeth, the release said.

Door to door personal contact is currently being made in an effort to locate Elizabeth. Both volunteer and sworn police staff are being utilized in an effort to locate the missing woman.

Anyone with information regarding this missing person is asked to call the Fairfield Police Department at (707) 428-7300
