Stopped at 4am, Fairfield Pair Arrested With Stolen Goods in Car

During a vehicle stop an officer discovered the driver and passenger were on Post Release Community Supervision (P.R.C.S.) and subject to search and seizure.

INFORMATION RELEASE 01/21/2014 DEPUTIES ARREST TWO DURING TRAFFIC STOP

Just after 4 a.m. this morning Solano County Sheriff Sergeant John Arabia stopped a vehicle for a vehicle code violation in the area of Rockville and Suisun Valley Roads. During the stop Arabia determined the male driver and female passenger were on Post Release Community Supervision (P.R.C.S.) and subject to search and seizure.

Sgt. Arabia conducted a search of the vehicle and found several items that he felt may have been stolen recently. Some of the items found inside the vehicle had a possible victim’s names on them.

Arabia contacted that possible victim and requested he check his vehicle which was parked in the Cordelia area. That victim checked his vehicle and determined it had been burglarized sometime during the night. That victim was later able to positively identify several items found inside the suspect’s vehicle as being stolen from his locked vehicle. Arabia also found numerous pieces on mail from several different addresses in Cordelia, near where the victim’s vehicle was parked.

Fairfield Police Department was notified and they met with the victim, whom Arabia had spoken to earlier, and they took a crime report for the vehicle burglary.

WILLIAM BURGES III, 35 year old transient out of Fairfield and HONORA C. HERRINGTON, 27 year old Fairfield resident were placed under arrest and booked into the Solano County Jail on the following list of felony charges:

  • vehicle burglary
  • possession of stolen property
  • conspiracy to commit burglary
  • violation of their Post Release Community Supervision.

Both Burges and Herrington are being held in the Solano County Jail with a no bail status due to their P.R.C.S. violations.

Burges and Herrington’s first court appearance is scheduled for Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. in the Fairfield Courthouse.
