A Suisun City teenager was arrested by Fairfield police for allegedly bringing a handgun to a high school Thursday, police said.

Fairfield police were contacted by Suisun City police who were tipped off that the 17-year-old male was in possession of a handgun, police said.

After the tip from the Solano County Probation Department, Suisun City police went to the teenager's home and conducted a probation search, but could not find the gun, police said.

When Suisun City police learned that the 17-year-old was at Sam Yeto High School in Fairfield, officers contacted Fairfield police.

Fairfield police went to the school and worked with school officials to get the student out of the classroom, police said.

Once the teenager was away from other students, he was searched and police discovered a loaded .22-caliber revolver in his pocket, according to police.

The 17-year-old was arrested for a number of firearm-related offenses and was booked into juvenile hall.
