Suisun Man Pleads Not Guilty to Killing Friend After Disagreement Over a Broken Chair

Zavier Pigues of Suisun is accused of killing his friend over what witnesses told police followed an argument over a broken kitchen chair. Pigues plead not guilty to one count of murder Thursday.

A Suisun City man accused of the gunshot slaying of his friend following an argument over a broken chair last year pleaded not guilty in Solano County Superior Court on Thursday, according to the Vacaville Reporter.

Zavier A. Pigues, 22, is accused of one count of murder in connection with the alleged Oct. 28 altercation in Fairfield that led to Brian Beaufort's death. 

Police responded to Beaufort's Oceanic Court home at about 3 a.m. after receiving a report of an assault with a deadly weapon to find Beaufort, 30, lying unresponsive in his driveway, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
