Suspected Criminals Arrested By Special Operations Team

The Fairfield PD Special Operations Team made several arrests lately.

Information from Fairfield Police:

In the matter of a week, the Fairfield Police Department’s newly formed Special Operations Team (SOT) located and apprehended several suspects for various violent offenses.

On June 15, 2012, Fairfield PD Major Crimes detectives identified two suspects involved in a sexual assault that occurred the evening of June 13, 2012.

The two subjects were identified as Andre Lewis, a 19 year old resident of Fairfield and Christopher Mamon, a 20 year old resident of Vallejo.

The suspects were reported to have victimized a 17 year old female acquaintance at a local park. Lewis was located at his residence in the 1600 block of Hazelwood Court Fairfield, while Mamon was located at a relative’s residence in the 500 block of Ridge Ave Vallejo.

Both were booked into the Solano County Jail on charges of rape, conspiracy, oral copulation, and false imprisonment.

Later the same day, San Francisco PD detectives contacted Fairfield PD and advised they had identified a suspect in what was described as a “brutal” sexual assault that occurred in the bathroom of a business in their city.

The Detectives stated there was currently a $2,000,000 arrest warrant for 25- year-old Fairfield resident Carlos Cordova. Fairfield PD Special Operations Team officers located Cordova in the 200 block of Dahlia Street in Fairfield and took him into custody. He was booked into the Solano County Jail and will be transferred to San Francisco.

On the same day SOT officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle for traffic violations near the intersection of N. Texas Street and Alaska Avenue.

During the stop, it was discovered the occupants of the vehicle were on probation and a compliance check was conducted. The search of the vehicle revealed a .38 caliber revolver and ammunition concealed inside.

Johnnie Williams, 21, of Fairfield was arrested for possessing a concealed handgun with ammunition accessible. Williams was also wanted for an assault that occurred on June 14 in which he allegedly punched and kicked a 40 year old male in the face during a fight at a residence. Williams was arrested on this offense as well and booked into the Solano County Jail.

On June 16, 2012, officers located and arrested James Alander, a 47 year old resident of Fairfield at his residence in the 1400 block of Monroe Street. Alander was wanted on two separate felony domestic violence and criminal threats incidents that occurred on May 28 and May 31, 2012.

During these incidents Alander allegedly punched his ex-girlfriend in her face, legs, and arms, causing bruising to the areas struck. On the May 31st incident Alander followed the victim to the courthouse on foot after the assault and threatened to kill her.  

After his arrest Alander was also found to be in possession of a small amount of suspected methamphetamine. Alander was booked into the Solano County jail on two counts of felony domestic violence, one count of making terrorist threats, and possession of a controlled substance.
