Suspected Vehicle Burglar Caught Red-Handed in Suisun City

An alert resident saw the crime taking place and called police.

Police say a 27-year-old Suisun City resident was caught red-handed leaving the scene of a vehicle burglary Thursday.

Damion Davis was arrested leaving the scene of a vehicle burglary near Suisun Elementary School, on Wood Duck Drive near East Wigeon Way. He was found to have property taken from the car, police said.

An alert resident had spotted Davis breaking into a car just after 8 a.m., the Suisun City Police Department said in a press release.

The suspect was also carrying items taken from two other nearby vehicle burglaries, according to the press release. He was on bail for another felony charge, and was arrested.

Davis was taken to the Solano County Jail.

"There has been an increase in residential and vehicle burglaries in Suisun City," the police department said in the press release. "Residents are encouraged to remain alert and report any suspicious activity to the police department at 707-421-7373."
