Teenager, Police Thwart Burglary In Suisun City

Police say a teenager home alone helped stop a burglary

Suisun City Police were able to stop an attempted robbery Sunday afternoon, resulting in the arrest of two suspects.

At roughly 1:30 p.m. a 16-year-old boy living in the 1600 block of Duluth Lane called police to report a trespasser in the backyard while he was home alone. While police rushed to the scene the teenager said he heard something breaking.

When police arrived, two male suspects fled the teenager’s backyard and hopped fences between homes, refusing to give themselves up. Police say eventually the suspects holed up in a garage of an occupied house that they entered through an unlocked side door.

Later, the suspects opened the garage door and surrendered, police say.  An investigation revealed that although window screens were damaged and removed at the teenager’s house, the suspects did not gain entry in the house. Fairfield police also assisted with the capture of the suspects and used one of their k-9 units, police said.

The incident is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Suisun City Police at 421-7373.
