Three Stabbed in Apparent Gang-Related Street Fight

Three victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Three men were stabbed with knives after a confrontation with a large group of people that police believe was gang-related Friday night in Fairfield.

Around 10:45 p.m. officers responded to the 1700 block of Fillmore Street on a report of a stabbing, police said.

Upon arrival, officers found three men suffering from stab wounds and cuts, police said.

A 22-year-old Fairfield man had been cut on his hands, while an 18-year-old Fairfield resident was suffering from two stab wounds to his back. The third victim, a 22-year-old Suisun City resident, had been stabbed in his groin, police said.

All three were taken to NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield with injuries not considered life-threatening, police said.

According to police, the assault began when a group of about 10 people confronted the victims outside on Fillmore Street.

The two groups exchanged insults and gang slogans before a physical fight ensued. At some point one or more of the suspects used knives to stab the victims, police said.

The fight ended when police began to arrive at the scene and the attackers fled in various directions on foot, according to police.

A search of the area did not turn up any suspects, police said.

The group of 10 was only described as comprised of Hispanic males and females.

The Fairfield Police Department's gang unit is investigating the unit that appears to be gang-related.

Anyone with information about the stabbings is asked to call Fairfield police at (707) 428-7600.
