Amtrak passengers are facing delays this morning after a train
struck and killed a pedestrian near the Suisun City station, a company
spokeswoman said.
Capitol Corridor train No. 523 hit the pedestrian about a tenth of
a mile from the station at about 6:10 a.m., Amtrak spokeswoman Vernae Graham
said.
About 135 passengers were onboard the train that was headed from
Sacramento to San Jose. Those passengers were put on another train.
They faced delays of up to about an hour and a half. Residual
delays were expected to continue throughout the morning, Graham said.
Details about the victim have not been released.
