Vallejo: Caregiver Arraigned On Charges Of Leaving Quadriplegic Man In Locked Truck

A Vallejo caregiver who allegedly locked a quadriplegic man in the back of a U-Haul truck Thursday while she used a bathroom was arraigned in Solano County Superior Court today.
Shassreea James, 43, was arrested after a passerby heard the
trapped man calling for help from the truck that was parked on Glen Cove
Parkway at South Regatta Drive around 8:15 p.m., Vallejo police Sgt. Jeff
Bassett said.

The 57-year-old man was with two dogs in the back of the U-Haul.
It's not known how long he was in the truck, and he was taken to a hospital, Bassett said.
James was arrested when she returned to the truck. She told police
she locked the man in the truck so she could use a bathroom, Bassett said.

James, also known as Shazzreea James, was booked into the Solano
County jail for abuse of a dependant elder adult, burglary, possession of
burglary tools and a violation of her probation.
She was wanted on a $30,000 warrant for violating her probation on
the burglary charge, Bassett said.
Police said another person also might have been caring for the
man.
