Vallejo Shooting Injures Man Challenged To Fist Fight

Delvon Morrow was arrested for shooting a Vallejo man.

Information from Solano County Sheriff's office:

On June 27, 2012, at approximately 1:00PM, 18-year-old Juanisha Jackson, and 18-year-old Delvon Morrow were kicked out of Jackson’s mother’s house which was located on the 50 block of Woodrow Avenue in unincorporated Vallejo.  A verbal altercation ensued with the other residents at the residence at that time, but it did not lead to a physical altercation.

Later that day, at approximately 11:00PM, Delvon Morrow and an un-identified suspect returned to the Woodrow Avenue residence where they challenged the occupants of the residence to come out and fight. Victims inside the residence indicated that they saw guns being carried by at least one, if not both of the suspects.  The people inside the residence refused to go outside to confront the two suspects, because of the firearms they believed they were carrying.  One of the victims from the residence said he tried to talk to Morrow and the other suspect through an open window and when he did the un-identified suspect slapped him the face.

The victim indicated that they went outside to confront Morrow and the un-identified suspect .Just as the victim walked outside the front door, the un-identified suspect pulled a gun out and shot at him. The victim indicated that he was probably no more than five to ten feet from the un-identified suspect at the time the shots were fired. The victim does not know how the suspect missed because they were so close and the gun was pointed directly at him when he fired.  The victim said he turned and ran back to the front door of the house and he heard more gunshots. One of the gun shots ended up striking the victim. The victim was rushed to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vallejo by ambulance where he was treated and later released for a gunshot wound.

Morrow and the un-identified suspect were able to flee the scene and avoid apprehension by responding deputies.  Sheriff’s detectives who responded to the shooting scene learned of another residence that Morrow was known to spend time at.  At approximately 3:00AM, on the morning of the 28th, deputies conducting surveillance at that residence located a vehicle believed to be associated with Morrow.  A traffic stop was made on the vehicle, and Morrow and his girlfriend, Jackson were taken into custody without incident.  Morrow was arrested for a variety of charges including Attempted Murder, Conspiracy, Making Terrorist Threats, and Shooting at an Inhabited Dwelling.  He is being held at the Solano County Jail on no bail.  Juanisha Jackson was released after a brief detention to determine her involvement in the shooting.
