Woman in Critical Condition After Hit-and-Run Accident

Police are actively seeking a vehicle ad driver involved in a hit-and-run accident Monday night.

 

A pedestrian is in critical condition in Fairfield after a vehicle struck her and then fled the scene on Monday night, according to police.

At about 8:55 p.m. on Monday, a vehicle on West Texas Drive struck a 49-year-old woman near Fairfield Aquatic. The woman was crossing West Texas Street near Curtis Court, outside of a crosswalk, with an acquaintance when a westbound car struck her, police said.

The car left the scene after striking the victim, according to police.

Police said the vehicle was last seen traveling westbound on West Texas Street.

According to police, the woman sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a trauma center in the Bay Area.

The suspect and suspect vehicle have not been located, police said.

The hit and run collision remains under investigation and police are urging witnesses and anyone else with information to contact police at (707) 428-7300.
