The Information Technology Division of the City of Fairfield’s Finance Department received the Award for Excellence, Information Technology Practices from the Municipal Information Systems Association of California (MISAC).
The City of Fairfield is the only city to achieve the Award for Excellence each year since the program was established.
“I’m very proud of the efforts of the IT Division to continue to bring accolades to the City of Fairfield. Maintaining IT practices at a level of excellence is critical as we’ve come to rely on technology to help deliver service to our residents,” said Steven Garrison, chief information officer.
MISAC has established the Award for Excellence in Information Technology Practices that recognizes exemplary information technology (IT) practices, and is intended to foster peer recognition of those achievements. Established in 1999, the program aims to recognize public agency Information Technology efforts by cities and special districts that exceed industry practices.
The evaluation committee is made up of three qualified IT directors, who each review the applications. The committee determines the award level of excellence, achievement, or none. Due to the high standards of review, not all agencies will receive an award.
“Congratulations to all of our IT staff on this accomplishment,” remarked David White, deputy city manager/director of finance.
