According to a press release, the project will be completed by Ghilotti Construction Co. and include significant sidewalk and curb work, isolated road base repair on Pintail Drive from Emperor Drive to Walters Road, and compete roadway resurfacing.  Other roadwork will include:

  • Grinding out and repairing isolated pavement base failures
  • Sealing cracks on existing pavement to curtail moisture penetration
  • Upgrading pedestrian curb ramps for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act in 23 locations
  • Replacing damaged curb, gutter and sidewalk
  • Grinding street surface in preparation for repaving
  • Overlaying the entire street surface with asphalt, including geotextile reinforcement fabric
  • Installing pavement markings
  • Replacing traffic signal detector loops
  • Install new lighted crosswalk at the Suisun City Library
  • Replacing pavements markings
  • Maintaining through traffic in a manner to maximize circulation through the construction zone

The $500,000 project is funded by a grant from the Federal Surface Transportation Programs and proceeds from the local gas tax. Construction and officials from Suisun City Public Works are working together to minimize impact to residents, Suisun Elementary School, Suisun City Library and Suisun City Fire Department.
