County Board Of Supervisors To Hold Study Session On Redistricting

The board will consider new boundaries for each supervisor's constituency

"Board study session explores redistricting options

The Board of Supervisors will conduct a study session Tuesday, June 7, to examine the redistricting options presented at community workshops last week.

The study session will explore the composition of the three alternative scenarios, which attempt to balance the population equally among the five supervisorial districts.  The County’s population according to the 2010 Census is 413,344 and each district target is 82,669 residents.

In addition, the Board will review the public comments received during the community workshops.

The Board will not make any decisions regarding the district boundaries during this study session.  It is anticipated the Board may give staff further guidance on the options that will be considered at the first public hearing on redistricting scheduled for June 14.
