Information from city of Fairfield:
One of the hardest things in life for adult children to face is the mental decline of aging parents. When we were young, we never thought that one day we might have to care for our parents. Disorders of the mind are more subtle than most physical disorders, they are not always visible and they may not be taken seriously because of that.
The Community Resources Department for the City of Fairfield announces Senior Helpers, in partnership with the Fairfield Senior Center, will offer a free seminar on Wednesday, June 20 at 10 a.m. in the Christiansen Room.
Senior Helpers has designed this seminar for care providers and family members who are coping with the changes that happen with dementia. The information provided will share basic concepts, communication skills, and improved interactions.
Call the center at 707-428-7421 to make reservations. The Fairfield Senior Center is located at 1200 Civic Center Drive.
