From A Latin Dance Performance To The Sounds of Hawaii

A special series of library events are going on this month.

wants nothing more to serve the community and be a part of it, that’s why this month they are reminding people of the promises they have worked so hard to keep.

“Promises Made, Promises Kept,” is a three-event series that shares a just a little of what goes on during various classes throughout the year.

“It’s a January, brand new celebration that even though we’re going through tough economic times, we’ve still been able to keep the promises that we’ve made,” said Laurie Johnson, supervising librarian.

No Uke-Sperience Necessary will also be giving a special performance, Saturday, Jan. 21, after spending the last three months practicing together every Saturday.

The library also hopes to spark up some interest in a new kind of class. So Tuesday, January 24, Promises Made, Promises Kept will be offering their first Garden Friends event, complete with free Dahlia flower seeds, gardening tips from a local expert, and more.

“So hopefully he’ll tell us how to plant them and get them all started so by the summertime we’ll have nice plants to remind us of the promises we’ve made and kept,” Johnson said.
