Salvation Army Project To Go Before Planning Commission

Site plan analysis for chapel and classrooms a technical piece of approval process that needs to be complete before project can be completed

The Salvation Army’s plans to build a chapel, classrooms, courtyard and storage facility at the Kroc Center at the 586 E. Wigeon Way site will go back to the planning commission Tuesday to get a site review and architectural plan analysis.

It’s a technical, but necessary step forward for the Salvation Army to continue with its plans to build the $22 million Kroc Center. According to plans submitted to the planning commission, the 300-seat chapel would be built with a raised platform. There would also be a fenced courtyard space in addition to the classroom and storage space.

Much of the legal and permit underpinnings to allow the Salvation Army to move forward have already been completed.
