Damaged Marsh Scene Sculpture Waits For A Complex Fix

The sculpture, created by Suisun Valley sculptor Phillip Glashoff, was damaged by an errant car.

It was never intended to look like abstract art, but that's just what an errant vehicle made the marsh scene sculpture look like on Walters Road near the intersection with Highway 12.

The collision occurred a couple months ago, but as Public Works Director Dan Kasperson said, the fix is a little more complex than a downed streetlight.

The good news is, the city has the insurance information for the vehicle that collided with the sculpture. The bad news?

"We have to go back to the original artist for repair work," Kasperson said.

Depending on Phillip Glashoff's schedule and availability, that may take some time.
