Sullivan Middle School Fights Closure

School board delays vote on boundary changes that would seal school's fate.

The Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District's governing board voted last month to close Sullivan Middle School and make other cuts rather than close an elementary as well as a middle school, but the decision isn't final in the eyes of the Sullivan school community.

Last night the board voted to delay a vote on boundary changes that would have sealed Sullivan's fate, as Sullivan supporters protested the move and presented the board with a petition of 2,300 signatures, the Daily Republic reported.

What do you think? Should the Sullivan community accept the loss of their school or keep fighting closure, assuming there is another answer to the district's budget woes?
