Union Agreement Could Save High School Sports

A tentative agreement, if passed, would save sports, yearbook and drama programs.

According to the Fairfield Daily Republic newspaper, Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District Superintendent Jacki Cottingham-Dias sent an email to school board members outlining a union deal to reduce each union member's contract by 2.6 percent.

The move would secure sports, drama and yearbook program for another year, but leave the possibility they would be cut another year after that if booster organizations couldn't come up with enough money to save some or all of the programs.
