Suisun Salvation Army, Eco-Delight Launching New Coffee Blend

The Kroc Center and Eco-Delight are hoping sales will benefit them both.

The Salvation Army and are teaming up with a new coffee blend that will be sold at the Salvation Army Kroc Center, with proceeds benefitting both entities.

The hope is the coffee blend will take off and it can be sent to other Kroc Centers on the west coast.

"We're hoping that at some point we'll get it beyond this area, but we're starting with baby steps and getting it out locally," Salvation Army Capt. Jonathan Harvey said. "We're going to give it our best shot."

The income generated for the coffee blend will support programs at the Kroc Center and scholarships for folks who can’t afford memberships to the Kroc Center on their own. Harvey recently tested out the blend at the Christmas at the Waterfront celebration — with good response.

"We'll have bags of that soon that people can purchase from our welcome center,” Harvey said. The welcome center is located at the old Hollywood Video storefront, next to Chase bank by Raley’s.

Eco-Delight co-owner Guillermo Moran said the idea came about after Harvey smelled some of Eco-Delight’s early offerings and decided teaming up with a local business.

"We wanted a blend,” Moran said adding that it was a blend of four different coffees with different roasting levels. “We didn’t want a single origin coffee, because if this grows the way we want it to, a single origin coffee will not be able to keep up with demand."
