Truly, the participants should boycott the race over this asinine backpack ban. I'm not a runner,…Read More but I would do so if I had previously had plans to attend this event.
But I already boycott doing any business in SF over the unconstitutional red light cameras and the OUTRAGEOUS fines that they have imposed for these pernicious, non-human devices so I guess this is just another reason to not visit SF.

I believe that the purpose of a service is to provide something of value, not just to employ people…Read More in a task that can be easily accomplished by a piece of equipment or machinery. Riveting was replaced by welding, we don’t need buggy whip makers anymore because we use cars in lieu of horse drawn carriages and sheet rock and tape replaced the people who used to apply plaster in buildings. At one time perhaps a quarter to a third of our population was on the farm and they were replaced by machinery. It’s called progress.

I do not understand why we do not have an electronic billboard that can have computer generated…Read More messages and graphics to announce the events and presence of SUISUN CITY to those who travel Highway 12. The circus posters currently in use look shabby compared to what an electronic sign, like the ones in FF like the auto dealers use. Many cities in the Bay Area have such signs.
That triangle sign at Marina and Highway 12 is often used to tell people about the houses for sale in Rio Vista. Why can't the city buy that sign and put up a bright
message electronically to put Suisun City back on the map. People simply do not know where we are, much less spell the name correctly. Time to get progressive if you want to bring new business to our city.

There was a time when this city held a Farmer's Market each week in the Marina area, but that is…Read More history with all of the changes in that area. Vendors came here with their products and we enjoyed that. When we had the SCANNERS volunteer citizens police group, we raised money for the DARE program with our sales.
I see no effort being made to put this type of activity back on the calendar. There are open fields, like behind the U.S. Post Office and the corner lots on Marina and Highway 12 which are not being used. If the Marina Shopping Center would sponsor such activities to bring people down there, those empty stores would perhaps bring new businesses to town. Too much concentration on Old Town has
taken away from the needs of the rest of the city.

When WalMart gets completed, they will no doubt put up some form of advertising to bring in new business. Look at the 24/7 traffic that they have at their Fairfield store...
we need to do something ourselves to put Suisun City back on the map before that.
The delivery people think that 94585 is Birds Landing....doesn't that tell you something?

Paying a person to 'buy' their time to come to your home, or ?? to care for your most beloved…Read More valuable in Life, is all a matter left to the Parent. Sure, you can review the guidelines set by some averages, areas, and calculations, but,,, bottom line is, it is what is within your budget and the agreement you have between you and your provider. If you want a credentialed nurse, teacher or professional, to come in, you will be paying more than you will be by hiring a high school student. I am a Caregiver/Nanny, my rates depend on the situation. I am a Mother/Grandmother, CPR/FirstAid certified and have a mile long list of experience and references. Personally, I will not work on a basis of a flat fee and variable hours. My time is charged by the time I spend, my duties, etc. Each party should communicate and agree on all aspects of responsibilities and payment. Taking care of someone's child is the most important job I have ever had. The Responsibility of it is Immense! If you are looking for someone to care for your Baby, whether 3 months, or 12 years old, please be sure that their PRIORITY is that Child, and NOT anything else! Check references and background, and when you are happy with that individual's care, please show them you are. They are there because they need the money. A few dollars shows your Caregiver that you Appreciate them, and if you can not spare that extra couple of bucks, you may want to rethink leaving your loved one with anyone at all...

In addition to being a mother of three, I'm a formerly credentialed elementary school teacher,…Read More trained Girl Scout Leader, Sunday school teacher and respite care giver for those with special needs. To pay me the $10.50 an hour this calculator suggests for my area would be a slap in the face to me. I don't just sit around and watch children (of any age) watch TV or play computer games. I play and work with children, thus leaving them better off for having spent time with me. I'm currenly watching a ten-year-old two weeks a month, and am currently teaching her how to sew and bake homemade bread. The $12.00 an hour I charge is well worth it for the time I put in. I strongly feel that the amount paid for any child care job should be calculated based on the providers' training, experience, and how they spend their time with children.
