As a feminist, I have to say that this young woman's actions are part of the problem with the rapeRead More culture issue. I read the report, and it sounds as if she was very drunk and that, in the beginning, there was mutual consent. She is lucky that she was with men who realized how far gone she was and took her to the hospital. Just because she doesn't remember doesn't mean something did. I will defend a woman all day, but there simply is no evidence that she was raped. The guy isn't always guilty.
"The Black Panther of Poetry" April 12, 2014 at 05:55 pm
Those are fine words Gaia, but this falsely accusing innocent men has got to stop. Thank God forRead More Kaepernick he was rich and famous. I mean what if the guy would have been poor or worse yet, what if a white girl accuses a black guy. Personally this type of behavior; an American Phenomenon, scares the bajesus out of me as a black man. Now that she has done such a dastardly misdeed, my opinion about other cases such as MIke Tyson, Kobe Bryant, Clarence Thomas, even Emmett Till; if I had a little doubt about their innocence (save Emmett Till) it has dissipated and all belief in their innocent has taken its' place
Linda Peterson April 14, 2014 at 03:31 pm
I'm sorry, where in the article does it say she accused anyone of rape? Does it say it in the policeRead More report? I don't know what the TMZ article claimed, but surely the woman in the hospital isn't responsible for what some rag runs, claiming to be the truth. Fact is, none of us except the participants know what happened, and I don't get from what I've read that the woman accused anyone of anything...

Ummm. Lindsey's title says Editor. Might be why she filtered through and deleted some things. I didRead More not get to read them so I can not comment on the relativity of the comments. But I did figure out the other part that DR 80 asked.
DLL parent November 16, 2013 at 07:10 pm
There are and were many parent/volunteers who have been in contact with DLL money. There could beRead More many potential suspects. To name one person is cowardly, malicious, and slanderous. I hope Mr. Ambrose has proof. According to the police, there have been no charges against anyone and most of us would prefer that before we throw someone's name out there, that we allow the police to do their job. Again, many parents/volunteers could be potential suspects but you won't see me throwing any names out. Rumors don't solve crimes, proof does. C'mon people, we are better than that. We are embarrassing our Little League. We should be Little League advocates and not small town gossipers. What's next, we examine the police records of all parents/volunteers? Cuz if that's the case, we would have even more potential suspects than necessary. Please editor, delete the above mentioned post. It makes us all look bad.

Since we want to sanitize the race as much as possible and remove any public concern about bombings,Read More we must take the name "Breakers" out of Bay to Breakers. "Breakers" could imply the possibility of someone getting hurt.
Jonathan Koolpe May 2, 2013 at 07:01 pm
Truly, the participants should boycott the race over this asinine backpack ban. I'm not a runner,Read More but I would do so if I had previously had plans to attend this event. But I already boycott doing any business in SF over the unconstitutional red light cameras and the OUTRAGEOUS fines that they have imposed for these pernicious, non-human devices so I guess this is just another reason to not visit SF.
Roberto May 3, 2013 at 01:52 pm
Not a problem, go with pressure cookers! Add a couple back straps and you have a waterproofRead More container that also serves as an ice chest for some snacks, and that cold beer after the race.
Trisha Bowler February 3, 2013 at 01:46 pm
I re read the above article and didn't see a channel number. All I saw was CBS. Don't know whereRead More you live but the title of this page is called "Diamond Bar-Walnut" Patch and here CBS is located on Channel 2. You were rude to the editor!
ATC February 3, 2013 at 02:41 pm
Actually, Trisha, you are wrong about the title. This article is posted on multiple Patch pages. I'mRead More looking at it under the Banning-Beaumont Patch. I also assume that when Peter posted, the article DID have a channel #, which was removed after his post. It wasn't rude, it was simply pointing out a discrepancy in the article, which was then corrected. Thanks, Peter, for pointing that out to the editors.

"Reality Check" needs a reality check: what does Oprah's interview with Lance ArmstrongRead More have to do with "military service", and AR 15s? She's a business woman and entertainer.

Why did it have to be Oprah doing the interview. Now I'll never know....I refuse to watch that hag!

PJM, this is a free enterprise system and as far as I know, no US laws have been broken. The realRead More issue here is as I and now others have mentioned, want the youth of our country following the lead of these players who have chosen to play outside the lines of the game. I only use the NFL seemed like and I still think it is as did MLB in the recent HOF voting results begin setting the bar for future players. I do not care if one has more legal liability than the other. One good example might be the labeling of cigarette packaging with the warning health labels..... now do you see, it really doesn't matter how it happens, just as the Surgeon General's warning is to try to prevent smoking and inherent damage that may occur, but it also in a sense allows the tobacco companies some if very limited liability from Suites of the legal variety. It's all good in my book, but not the use of Steroids in MLB!
None January 11, 2013 at 06:05 pm
When I see Major League Baseball, the NFL, the AFL, the NBA, the NHL and the NCAA publish andRead More enforce a real drug policy, I will believe someone has become serious about this issue. In the meantime I see a lot of posturing and worthless statements but little to no action. If we want to see our kids idolize people who use and condone the use of drugs, that is what we have now. It’s a sad commentary on what we have grown to accept.
